History and GP learning covered 24-28th August

Y7 History – Students were tested on their ability to follow instructions and were given a base line assessment.

Y8 History – Students began to complete a project on living through the covid epidemic, discussing how it has changed their lives.

Y9 History – Students began to complete a project on living through the covid epidemic and assessed the causes and consequences of the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71.

Y9 GP – Students discussed what is meant by “development” and discussed ways of identifying developed / less developed nations.

Y10 and Y11 History – Students used a variety of exam responses, mark schemes, exam guides and examiners reports to develop their ability to understand how to answer Paper 1 History exams effectively.

Y10 and Y11 GP – Students used a variety of exam responses, mark schemes, exam guides and examiners reports to develop their ability to understand how to answer GP  exams effectively.

Year 12 History – Students discussed the motives for imperial expansion in the 19th century and explained the differences between “New Imperialism” and what existed up until the Industrial Revolution. Students considered the ethical, economic and political reasons for imperialism.
