‘Of Mice and Men’ 19th – 22nd October

In English this week we focused on:

1. Reading chapter/episode 5 of the text
2. Identifying the clues that Steinbeck gives us in the novella that foreshadow the death of Curley’s wife
3. Curley’s wife: her background, home life and her loneliness
4. The impact on the reader  of learning her life story shortly before her death.
5. How Steinbeck uses language (verbs, adverbs and adjectives), imagery and sentence structure to create atmosphere and tension.
