All the children completed their times tables well and most in a faster time 🙂
The children have continued to develop and demonstrate their understanding of place value in 4 and sometimes 5 digit numbers using the following learning targets.
To be able to multiply and divide numbers by 10, 100 and 1000.
To be able to count on and back in 10s, 100s and 1000s.
To be able to plan a story using a story map. To be able to write longer stories from plans.
Using the story GIRAFFES CAN’T DANCE as a stimulus the children have been creative and innovative to plan and write their own stories. Although it was challenging for some to get started they all showed a lot of resilience to write their stories.

We shared a definition of learning and continued to think about what it means to have a growth mindset. The children have learned more about what it means to be internationally minded.
We shall continue to discuss aspects of the BRAINWAVE unit as the school year progresses. For the Exit Point the children shared their learning on a FLIPGRID video.
In the Entry Point for the new IPC unit SHAPING UP the children had fun making a human shape out of a tangram. They checked how they are ‘shaping up’ by measuring their temperature, height, weight and pulse rate. We have got a fun unit ahead 🙂
