We have begun our unit on feelings. The children are practicing how to label what they feel perhaps using new vocabulary such as proud and confused. They are learning to look at their friends faces and try to understand what their friend is feeling. It is a good exercise to recognise your feelings so you may communicate effectively to those around you and regulate reactions in a healthy, productive way. We will talk about how music can elicit emotions, making one person feel one way and another person feel differently. We listened to two excerpts of music by Ludwig van Beethoven and the children showed with their faces how it made them feel. We will have a cooking activity on Friday where the children can make faces on crackers using different types of food. We celebrated Adriana’s birthday this week. She turned four on January 15th, hip hip hip, hooray!
