SES Instagram celebrates the sporting, cultural, social and charitable activities of our school community. Providing our students with opportunities for fitness, sport, artistic expression as well as a supportive social environment is a very important part of their development. We appreciate the extensive efforts of our teachers and parents in providing a well rounded experience. A massive well done to our budding little bakers! After all their hard work making their cookie creations, we took a moment to hear their verdicts.
We were absolutely chuffed to bits to hear them confidently using their new vocabulary to describe their handiwork. The reviews are in, and it’s official: the cookies are “good” and, best of all, utterly “yummy”!
It’s such a lovely thing to see them expressing their satisfaction and building their confidence after a successful baking session. This shows that every practical life activity also includes valuable language and communication skills!

The kitchen was filled with a cracking aroma as our freshly cookies came out of the oven! 🍪
Safety first, of course; our brilliant teacher was the only one allowed near the scorching hot tray, as we all watched the final stage of our baking masterclass. The students were thrilled to learn how the cookies changed texture, noting that they were now “harder than before”.
After a quick sniff test, there was nothing left but to try them, even if one little champion admitted it was still “burning my tongue”! What a smashing end to a fantastic, hands-on lesson about transformations and safety!
