The celebration began with a warm and elegant dinner. The venue sparkled with lights and decorations that set a festive yet classy atmosphere. Students dressed in their finest gowns and suits, took their seats at beautifully arranged tables. Conversations flowed as plates were filled, and laughter rang out as friends exchanged stories from their school days. It was not just about the food, but about the shared moments of connection — the quiet smiles, the inside jokes, and the memories that this night would be one to remember. Dinner created the perfect balance of elegance and comfort, easing everyone into the evening ahead.

 

Reflections from the Graduates

After dinner, attention turned to the Year 12 graduates. A series of interviews allowed them to share their reflections on their school journey — from the challenges they faced, to the friendships they had built, to the dreams they were about to pursue. Their words were filled with warmth and gratitude, leaving many of the younger students inspired and hopeful about their own futures. A lively song relay game had everyone singing along to favourite tunes, with each group picking up right where the last had left off. Cultural-Christmas Show: 8 December 2017

We had a range of singing, music, drama and dance as part of the festive fun. It was an enjoyable evening attended by guests from the Ministry of Education, local schools as well as our fabulous parents. The primary and secondary students did a great job and should be proud of the acts that were showcased. After the show, we enjoyed some delicious festive foods and had a chance to socialise. 

Cultural Show & Summer Fair 2017: 24 May 2017

On Wednesday 24 May, Surabaya European School staged its inaugural combined Cultural Show and Summer Fair. This was a joint venture organised by the students, parents and staff in our community. The parents led by Mrs Juhi, put together an impressive program of events which showcased dance, drama, music, singing and presentations from various countries. Mrs Telita did a fantastic job as MC for the Cultural Show which culminated in a colourful flag parade. The show was a celebration of our cultural diversity and global citizenship. Our sincere thanks to all the parents who generously supported and helped with this event.

The Student Council and our Year 6 class worked very hard with the whole student body to devise a range of fun games and activities which were enjoyed by people of all ages. Prizes were awarded to those who had collected tokens from the games. People could choose from a variety of small gifts. Besides games, we also delighted in some delicious foods in the Bake Sale. The Summer Fair and Cultural Show raised a massive Rp15 million for our charity Abdi Asih. Many thanks to everyone for making this a success!
