Our Educators

Alongside their qualifications and experiences, Surabaya European School’s teachers have the qualities needed to support and inspire students in a high performing international school. These include enthusiasm, independence, resilience, adaptability and a sense of humour. From Montessori school, Primary School and Secondary school these characteristics all contribute to the caring, supportive environment and caring community that encourages each students to explore and develop their potential in their own way.

We make a conscious effort to hold events that offer our community the opportunity to come together in wide range of sporting, artistic, intellectual and cultural activities. Cambridge Science Unit Forces - Year 5. The children have been diving into the captivating realm of Forces in their science curriculum. By engaging in hands-on activities, they`ve been discovering how forces manifest in everyday life. Through these immersive experiences, tangible connections between classroom studies and the world around them are forged. Building and flying kites is not only a fun pastime, it`s a valuable life skill that allows children to integrate their learning into an enjoyable context.

Visiting the Al Akbar Mosque, the largest mosque in Surabaya, was truly impressive, especially during the sacred month of Ramadan.

Immersing ourselves in the teachings of the tausiyah about Ramadan deepened our spiritual connection, complemented by the serene ambiance of the mosque.

Sharing iftar at both the Al Akbar Mosque and Roudlatul Jannah was a meaningful experience as well, allowing us to connect with the community during this holy month.

This year’s International Day was an absolute blast!

Each class chose a country as their theme, and witnessing everyone dressed up and performing in ways that reflected those nations was truly a sight to behold. And of course, we can’t overlook the delicious national foods that were prepared for everyone to enjoy!

We’re thrilled that the students had such a fantastic time while also gaining valuable insights into diversity and nurturing cross-cultural understanding. Our hope is that events like these will equip our students to become outstanding global citizens who embrace differences without prejudice.”
